India is still a country where choosing your partner for marriage is a decision most people are not allowed to make themselves. In most cases parents make those decisions based on a number of factors like caste, economics, religion, dowry etc. The matters get even worse when someone is not heterosexual.

Welcome Valentine 2017 is about a priest and a Hanuman temple (Monkey God and misunderstood as the flag bearer of celibacy) in the city of Ahmedabad, India, where the priest helps eloping as well as LGBTQ couples to get married in a safe space. Hirabhai Juguji (the priest) approaches love, marriage, politics and religion with not just extreme simplicity but also with extreme depth. His beliefs are very unusual compared to the orthodox and conservative beliefs priests are known to have in India. Through his deep understanding of love, religion and politics he is aiding couples aching for acceptance and stability in their personal lives to exercise their basic right of choosing a life partner.
