LUCÍA GAJÁ

Born in Mexico City in 1974. Studied graphic communications at UNAM and later film at the Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos (CUEC) specializing in directing. Was in Santiago Álvarez's documentary workshop at the San Antonio de los Baños School, in Cuba, as well as a seminar with American documentarian Allan Miller and Chilean documentarian Patricio Guzmán. Has been nominated for the Rockefeller Foundation twice and received a grant from the Ford Foundation. Assistant director on feature films and shorts. Won the Ariel 2005 award for her documentary "Soy".
She is currently presenting her debut feature length documentary "Mi Vida Dentro" which won best documentary and best documentary by a woman awards at the 2007 Morelia Film Festival, and was recently nominated for a 2008 Ariel as best feature length documentary. She is also part of the jury for the human rights section of the Mexico City Contemporary Film Festival 2008.
