Director Mia Engberg returns to her childhood suburb Hässelby Gård to find a new generation of suburban heroes. Frazze who’s been diagnosed with ADHD and is shut off from school. “Dino” who can’t stop painting graffiti. And then there is Ayesha, the Ghetto Princess, who makes music in order to change the world.

Graduated from the Dramatic Institute of Stockholm in 1997. Since then Mia has produced a number of cutting edge films as well as been a commissioning editor for Ikon, Sveriges Television. Mia represents a new generation of Swedish filmmakers. Her films are often human dramas about young people filmed with a different perspective. ”The Stars We Are” was nominated for a Guldbagge award and won First Price at München Film Festival.

Mia Engberg is also known for her ”female-porn” project in Sweden and for playing in a feminist ska-band ”Vagina Grande”.
